Radiographic-quality welds for demanding applications
Conarco 18 (AWS E7018-1) is the low-hydrogen basic electrode professional welders choose when the joint cannot fail. In 3.25 mm it is the most versatile diameter for structural work, boilermaking and maintenance. This sealed 20 kg box is designed for workshops and job sites with continuous consumption.
Key advantages
- Radiographic-quality beads: its basic slag ensures welds that pass demanding inspections.
- Low-temperature toughness: over 100 J Charpy impact at -29 °C and over 80 J at -45 °C.
- Low hydrogen: reduces the risk of cracking in higher-strength steels.
- Wide service range: suitable for parts operating from -29 °C up to 540 °C.
- Dissimilar joints: joins low-carbon steels to high-strength steels.
Applications
- Critical welded structures in C-Mn and low-alloy steels (up to 560 MPa).
- Steels with up to 0.45% carbon.
- Shipbuilding: grade A, D and E steels.
- Industrial maintenance, boilermaking and erection work.

Technician's tip: as a low-hydrogen electrode, Conarco 18 performs best when kept dry. Once the box is opened, store the electrodes in a holding oven or quiver, and recondition any that have absorbed moisture before using them on critical joints.
