760 MPa low-hydrogen electrode for quenched and tempered steels
Lincoln Electric Excalibur® 11018M MR® (AWS E11018M-H4R) is a low-alloy, low-hydrogen electrode for high-strength quenched and tempered steels such as ASTM A514, A517 and A709. It delivers premium arc performance, uniform coating burn-off and easy slag removal. In 3.20 mm, the most versatile diameter, it performs in root, fill and out-of-position welding.
Key advantages
- Maximum strength: 760 to 810 MPa tensile strength.
- For quenched and tempered steels: ASTM A514, A517 and A709.
- Low-temperature toughness: up to 110 J Charpy impact at -50 °C.
- MR coating: resists moisture pickup.
- Certified quality: ABS, CWB and DNV-GL approvals.
Applications
- Quenched and tempered steels ASTM A514, A517 and A709.
- General fabrication with high-strength steels.
- Crane booms.
- Trailer and semi-trailer frames.

Technician's tip: Lincoln's MR coating resists moisture pickup, but this is still a low-hydrogen electrode: once the can is open, keep it in a holding oven and avoid leaving it exposed during the shift.
