Guaranteed toughness at -46 °C for critical joints

Lincoln Electric Excalibur® 7018-1 MR® (AWS E7018-1 H4R) is an iron-powder low-hydrogen electrode with guaranteed low-temperature toughness. Its moisture-resistant coating makes it reliable for bridges, buildings and pressure vessels. In 2.50 mm it is ideal for root passes and thin sections, with good puddle control.

Key advantages

  • Low-temperature toughness: 138 J Charpy impact at -45 °C.
  • Very low hydrogen: 2 to 3 ml/100 g deposit.
  • MR coating: resists moisture pickup.
  • All positions: 1G, 2F, 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G.
  • Certified quality: LR and ABS approvals.

Applications

  • Bridges, buildings and pressure vessels.
  • Mild and low-alloy steels.
  • Critical joints that require a low-hydrogen deposit.
  • Low-temperature service.

Technician's tip: Lincoln's MR coating resists moisture pickup, but it is still a low-hydrogen electrode: once the can is open, keep it in a holding oven and avoid leaving it exposed during the shift.
