UTP 68 HH Electrode
Characteristics and Field of Use
UTP 068 HH is used for joining identical or similar heat-resistant Ni-base alloys, heat-resistant austenitic alloys, cold-tough nickel steels, and for joining heat-resistant austenitic-ferritic materials, such as 2.4817 (LC NiCr15Fe), 1.4876 (X10 NiCrTiAl 32 20), and 1.4941 (X8 CrNiTi 18 10). It is also specifically used for joining high-carbon cast steels (25/35 CrNi) up to 1.4859 or 1.4876 for petrochemical plants with operating temperatures up to 900°C. The UTP 068 HH weld metal is resistant to hot cracking, does not tend toward embrittlement, and is scale-resistant at high temperatures.
Welding Instructions
Hold the electrode as vertically as possible with very little weaving (oscillation). Fill the end crater carefully. Maximum interpass temperature: 150°C. Re-dry the electrodes for 2–3 hours at 250–300°C.
