UTP 39 4.00 mm (E Cu) Electrode - 5.60 kg pack

UTP 39

Description

UTP 39 produces pore-free and crack-resistant beads. Its corrosion resistance is equivalent to that of the highest commercial grades of copper.

UTP 39 is used for joining and surfacing commercial types of pure copper and copper-nickel alloys, such as:

DIN 1787: C-Cu, D-Cu, F-Cu, E-Cu, SA-Cu, SB-Cu, SD-C, SE-Cu, SF-Cu.

Welding Instructions

  • Preparation: Clean the workpiece to be welded. For thicknesses exceeding 5 mm, joints must be beveled with a 90° opening angle.
  • Preheating: Thick-walled parts should be preheated between 150 and 250 °C.
  • Technique: Hold the electrode in a vertical position with a slight oscillation. Apply at high speed to prevent overheating.
  • Drying/Reconditioning: Weld only with completely dry electrodes. Prior to application, they must be reconditioned for 2 to 3 hours at 150 °C.
