UTP 65 Electrode

Description

UTP 65 is a special austenitic-ferritic electrode designed for critical tasks, featuring excellent mechanical properties. It offers high resistance to cracking when welding base metals with poor weldability and dissimilar joints between austenitic and ferritic steels, manganese steels (ASTM A 128 Hadfield) with alloyed and non-alloyed steels, high-strength steels, and tool steels. It is ideal for welding buffer layers (cushion layers) on the aforementioned base materials.

UTP 65 has a wide range of applications in maintenance and repair, such as: machinery and transmission parts (shafts, gears, housings), especially in the construction equipment sector, where it is preferred due to its safe and trouble-free application.

Characteristics

UTP 65 can be welded in all positions. It features a stable arc and the slag is easily removed. The bead appearance is smooth, without spatter or undercutting. The deposit work-hardens during use.

Welding Instructions

Clean the area to be welded. For thick sections, prepare V, double-V, or J-groove bevels. Use a short arc. Maintain the electrode vertically in relation to the workpiece. Use only dry electrodes. Electrodes that have become damp due to environmental exposure should be dried at a temperature between 120 and 200°C for 2 to 3 hours.
