UTP 65 Electrode
Description
UTP 65 is a special austenitic-ferritic electrode designed for critical tasks, featuring excellent mechanical properties. It possesses high crack resistance when welding difficult-to-weld base metals and dissimilar joints between austenitic and ferritic steels, manganese steels (ASTM A 128 Hadfield) with alloyed and unalloyed steels, high-strength steels, alloy steels, heat-treatable steels, and tool steels. It is ideal for welding buffer layers (cushion layers) on the aforementioned base materials.
UTP 65 has a wide variety of maintenance and repair applications, such as machinery and transmission parts (shafts, gears, housings), particularly in the construction equipment field, where it is preferred due to its safe and trouble-free application.
Characteristics
UTP 65 can be welded in all positions. It features a stable arc and easily removable slag. The bead appearance is smooth, without spatter or undercutting. It work-hardens during operation.
Welding Instructions
Clean the area to be welded. For thick sections, prepare V, double-V, or J-groove bevels. Use a short arc. Keep the electrode vertical relative to the workpiece. Use only dry electrodes. Electrodes that have become damp due to environmental exposure must be dried at a temperature between 120°C and 200°C for 2 to 3 hours.
