UTP6020 ELECTRODE
Description
UTP 6020 is recommended for the fabrication and repair of fine-grained, quenched, and tempered steels with a tensile strength exceeding 760 MPa. It is also suitable for welding low-alloy steels. Common applications include the construction of bridges, pipelines, and spherical tanks for liquefied gas, as well as installations with operating temperatures down to -50°C.
Characteristics
- Versatility: UTP 6020 is easily applied in all positions, except vertical down.
- Efficiency: Features easy slag removal and a 115% recovery rate.
- Quality: Produces a tough, crack-resistant deposit.
- Precision: The electrode's ignition tip helps eliminate porosity at the start of the arc.
Welding Instructions
- Maintain a short arc.
- Electrode oscillation (weaving) should not exceed three times the core wire diameter.
- Use only dry electrodes.
- If electrodes have been exposed to the environment and become damp, they must be re-dried at a temperature between 250°C and 300°C for 2 to 3 hours.
Heat Treatment
If post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) is required, it must be performed according to the specific requirements of the base material.
