UTP A 73 G2 Wire

Description

UTP A 73 G2 is used for parts subject to severe friction, compression, and moderate impact loads at high temperatures. Typical applications include: punches, jaws, gate valves, hot and cold cutting devices, hot shear blades, extrusion press pistons, dies, and molds, among others.

Characteristics

  • Machining is possible using tungsten carbide tools.

Welding Instructions

Completely remove any cracks from previously deposited material. Preheat the base material to a temperature of 400 °C, maintaining this temperature throughout the tools. Stress relieving at 550 °C is recommended.

  • C: 0.35
  • Si: 0.3
  • Mn: 1.2
  • Cr: 7.0
  • Mo: 2.0
  • Ti: 0.3
  • Fe: Balance

Mechanical properties of the deposit

As welded:

  • 53 – 58 HRC

Soft annealed at 820 °C:

  • Approx. 200 HB

Hardened at 1050 °C/oil:

  • Approx. 58 HRC

Tempered at 600 °C:

  • Approx. 53 HRC

Single layer on unalloyed steel:

  • Approx. 45 HRC
