Description
The material used for zirconia cloth is zirconia alumina (as an abrasive grain), which is bonded onto a cloth backing of varying flexibility (depending on the grit size and application). It is supplied as a coated abrasive and is used to manufacture and convert various abrasive products for use on rotary machines. This material features high cut rates and extended durability.
Zirconia exhibits a unique self-sharpening characteristic that extends its service life during heavy-duty material removal operations. It is suitable for metal grinding and flat wood surface operations, as the controlled fracturing of the grain continuously produces fresh cutting edges.
Its main applications include polishing die-cast parts, deburring edges and imperfections, weld removal, inner surfaces of cylinders, tubes, and general parts grinding. It guarantees fast stock removal and high cutting capacity on iron, carbon steel (hardened or unhardened), stainless steel, aluminum, and cast iron. This product is specifically recommended for operations requiring high cut rates with fast stock removal and minimal heat generation.
