Description
Silver soldering fluxes (80g) are used in virtually all soldering, brazing, and hard soldering processes, excluding only those performed under a controlled atmosphere in special furnaces, or in copper-to-copper and copper-to-bronze brazing using copper-phosphorus or silver-copper-phosphorus alloys.
Over the years, Harris has developed and improved its range of fluxes to deliver excellent performance across the various processes in which they are applied.
For satisfactory results, the surfaces to be joined must be clean before applying the flux. It is important to remember that fluxes only dissolve metal oxides and have no effect on organic residues such as oil and grease. To select the correct flux, ensure that the melting range of the alloy being used falls within the active temperature range of the flux.
The flux is used for oxy-fuel welding and with silver filler rods. It aids in cleaning, deoxidation, and melting, improving the flow and fluidity of the deposited material.
