Pickling Gel
Description
It is used for the cleaning and pickling of welds on stainless steels and specific alloys, in any position and at room temperature. It can be used at post-welding temperatures of up to 60°C, which will reduce application time but will generate vapors due to the accelerated reaction. The primary reason for using Genox in metallurgical processes on stainless steel is the need to remove the chromium-depleted metal surface resulting from welding, cutting, or heat treatments. This degraded zone will be removed by the controlled corrosion action of the pickling agent; thus, after rinsing, the surface is not only left clean but also prepared for passivation or natural oxidation to restore its anti-corrosive chromium oxide layer.
