OK Tigrod 4047 Rod
Description
OK Tigrod 4047 was originally developed as a brazing alloy to take advantage of its low melting point and narrow freezing range. Additionally, it has a higher silicon content than OK Tigrod 4043, which provides increased fluidity and reduces shrinkage. Hot cracking is significantly reduced when using OK Tigrod 4047 as a filler alloy. This alloy can be used in applications involving sustained elevated temperatures. It is not heat-treatable.
Technical Specifications
This is an aluminum alloy containing approximately 12% silicon. In TIG (GTAW) welding applications, this alloy is primarily used for brazing processes due to its superior flow characteristics and good corrosion resistance.
Because it possesses a lower melting point, it is also suitable for oxy-acetylene welding.
Compatibility
Suitable for welding processes involving the following base metals:
- Wrought Alloys: 1060, 1350, 3003, 3004, 3005, 5005, 5050, 6053, 6061, 6951, 7005
- Cast Alloys: 710.0 and 711.0
