Klingspor abrasive flap discs from the Extra product line stand out for their excellent price-performance ratio. When grinding steel and stainless steel, these abrasive discs provide a good removal rate without the risk of glazing, even under reduced application pressure. The self-sharpening zirconia alumina ensures the flap disc's long service life. It is suitable for use with standard angle grinders on the market across all performance classes. However, the maximum permissible peripheral speed in m/s must be taken into account during use; this figure is printed directly on the disc.
The fiberglass-reinforced plastic backing plate forms the base of the abrasive disc and ensures optimal power transmission to the workpiece. A special manufacturing process provides the zirconia alumina abrasive flaps with extremely high adhesion to the backing plate. This exceeds the requirements of the EN 13743 safety standard, thereby increasing workplace safety. Nevertheless, it is of fundamental importance to use the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) when working with the abrasive flap disc. This should include eye and hearing protection, a dust mask, and gloves. It is also important not to work in the vicinity of flammable materials.
