UTP A 73 G4 Rod
Description
UTP A 73 G4 is used on tool parts and surfaces subject to abrasion, compression, and impact at elevated temperatures, particularly on forging dies, casting molds, rollers, hot-shear blades, etc. It is a cost-effective solution for manufacturing new tools on base materials with adequate tensile strength.
Characteristics
This rod features good weldability properties and is excellent for build-up techniques due to its uniform flow during fusion.
Welding Instructions
Completely remove any cracks from previously deposited material. Preheat the base material to a temperature of 400 °C, which must be maintained throughout the process for tools. Stress relief annealing is recommended at 550 °C.
Condition Hardness
| As pure weld metal: | 38 - 42 HRC |
| Annealed at 800 °C: | Approx. 230 HB |
| Hardened at 1030 °C / oil: | Approx. 42 HRC |
