MAP-Pro Cylinder
Description
- For soft soldering, brazing, and heat treating.
- Use only with torches designed for MAPP gas.
- Never use with standard propane appliances such as lanterns, stoves, torches, etc.
- DO NOT expose to high temperatures. Danger of explosion.
Instructions for Use
Before use:
- Check cylinder seals; never use if damaged. Discard the cylinder if there are rust marks on the valve.
- Turn off the torch.
- Position the cylinder with the valve facing up while connecting the torch.
- Connect the cylinder outdoors, away from pilot lights, flames, sparks, and any ignition sources.
- Hand-tighten only; do not use tools for tightening.
- Check for leaks. Apply soapy water to connections. Look for bubbles. Listen for hiss/leaks. Feel for extreme cold. Smell for rotten odor. Do not use if any leak is found.
During use:
- Keep the cylinder upright to avoid flameouts. Never drop or throw the cylinder.
- If the torch sputters/flares, turn the cylinder upright and turn off the torch. Ventilate the area to disperse the gas. Relight slowly. If you hear a leak, discard.
- Never use near pilot lights, flames, sparks, or any ignition sources.
After use:
- Turn off the torch and allow it to cool down.
- Disconnect the torch when not in use.
- Disconnect the torch outdoors.
- Replace the cap to keep the valve clean.
