BMT Threadlocker
Description
Tekbond anaerobic adhesive recommended for locking and securing threaded fasteners (nuts and bolts). It fills the gaps between threads and, upon curing, unitizes the parts to ensure complete locking. This prevents relative movement between threads, eliminating loosening caused by vibration, impact, and thermal expansion. Medium strength allows for controlled disassembly without damaging threaded components. Non-drip formula allows for vertical application without sagging.
Application
Designed for locking and sealing threaded components requiring medium strength. Securing small diameter or long fasteners where easy disassembly without component damage is required.
Prevents corrosion in threaded joints. Prevents loosening from vibration.
Instructions for Use
- For best performance, surfaces must be clean and free of grease and dirt.
- For inactive materials such as stainless steel, aluminum, and cast iron, we recommend using Activator T (curing accelerator for anaerobic adhesives).
- For blind-hole applications, apply the adhesive to the bottom of the internal thread.
- During tightening, air will be displaced, forcing the adhesive upward into the threads.
- Disassembly can be performed using standard hand tools.
Precautions
Excessive adhesive will impair the bonding process. Store in a cool place at a temperature between 15 and 25°C (59 to 77°F), away from metals and chemical products.
