Harris Blockade Rod
Description
For brazing copper to iron, bronze, or brass (not steel). Thanks to its low working temperature, the risk of overheating the brass is reduced. It is also often used as a cost-effective alternative to copper-phosphorus brazing alloys with 2% and 5% silver content, as well as standard silver solders/brazing alloys.
It exhibits capillary action; due to its extraordinary fluidity properties, the joint gap fills very rapidly, forming a smooth, uniform fillet at the brazing joint.
It is also suitable for all flame brazing processes, as well as induction heating and furnace brazing. Blockade is frequently used in the electrical, refrigeration, and HVAC industries.
Applications
- For brazing joints with operating temperatures ranging from -50 °C to 150 °C.
- Specially indicated for copper alloys such as brass, bronze, etc.
- Not suitable for brazing steel or nickel alloys (risk of brittle phase formation), nor for use in sulfur-containing environments.
