FS764 Fiber Disc
Description
The Klingspor FS 764 ACT model is a vulcanized fiber disc for use on steel and stainless steel. This fiber disc enables sanding work with a high stock removal rate. The abrasive grain used is aluminum oxide. The bonding agent, formulated with Klingspor's special ACT technology, achieves high grain adhesion that—combined with the vulcanized fiber backing—produces an extremely durable abrasive product. Highlights
The sturdy combination of backing, bond, and grit size allows aggressive metal grinding for rust removal on metal components, coarse grinding, weld seam dressing, and deburring tasks.
To ensure the maximum speed of 80 meters per second is not exceeded, specific maximum rotational speeds must be observed depending on the disc and backing pad diameter:
- 13,300 rpm for a 115 mm diameter
- 12,200 rpm for a 125 mm diameter
- 8,500 rpm for a 180 mm diameter
Consequently, the FS 764 ACT fiber disc is designed primarily for high stock removal and aggressive grinding applications.
The backing pad used has a decisive influence on the desired sanding result.
