CS661 Fibre Disc

Description

The Klingspor FS 966 ACT vulcanized fibre disc is suitable even for heavy-duty applications. It is used for grinding stainless steel and stands out for its high aggressiveness, long service life, and microcrystalline self-sharpening effect.

Additionally, it features a multibond structure that prevents heat discoloration. These vulcanized fibre discs are available in a wide range of sizes and grit sizes.

Product Highlights

  • Consistent grinding results over an extended period can be achieved with the Klingspor FS 966 ACT vulcanized fibre disc, as its high aggressiveness is maintained throughout its entire service life.
  • Outstanding stock removal performance is ensured by a ceramic aluminum oxide grain—a sharp, pointed grain with acute edges that is both hard and exceptionally tough.
  • Furthermore, thanks to its microcrystalline structure, the ceramic aluminum oxide is self-sharpening. When the top tip of a grain wears down, it breaks off to reveal a new sharp-edged point. This self-sharpening effect ensures a long service life for the vulcanized fibre disc.
  • The abrasive grain is applied with a dense coating, covering virtually the entire surface. This dense coating further extends service life and guarantees flawless results when grinding stainless steel.
  • Another special feature of this disc is its unmatched grain adhesion, achieved through the synthetic resin top coat. Compared to natural bonds, synthetic resin offers superior bonding strength and stands out for its exceptionally high resistance.
  • Cool grinding is guaranteed on the FS 966 ACT vulcanized fibre disc thanks to the multibond structure. With this type of bond, an additional coating is applied to the abrasive product. This reduces peak temperatures at the grain points as well as chip adhesion from the workpiece, preventing heat-induced discoloration when grinding stainless steel. Moreover, it extends service life and reduces abrasive consumption.
