FS 966 CERAMIC FIBRE DISC 115 MM GR 80

Klingspor FS 966

Description

Highly aggressive fibre disc for stainless steel machining, suitable even for heavy-duty applications. It is used for grinding stainless steel and is characterized by high aggressiveness, a long service life, and its microcrystalline self-sharpening effect.

Furthermore, it features a multi-bond coating that prevents heat discoloration. These vulcanized fibre discs are available in a wide range of sizes and grit sizes.

Highlights

  • Aggressive and durable: self-sharpening ceramic aluminium oxide
  • With the Klingspor FS 966 ACT vulcanized fibre disc, good grinding results can be achieved over a long period, as its high aggressiveness is maintained throughout its entire service life.
  • High material removal is ensured by a ceramic aluminium oxide grain—a sharp-pointed, sharp-edged grain that is hard and very tough.
  • Thanks to its microcrystalline structure, the ceramic aluminium oxide is self-sharpening. When the topmost point of a grain wears down, it breaks off, forming a new sharp-edged point. This self-sharpening effect provides the vulcanized fibre disc with a long service life.
  • The abrasive grain is applied with a close coating, which covers practically the entire surface. This close coating further extends the service life and ensures perfect results when grinding stainless steel.
  • Another special feature of this disc is the unbeatable grain adhesion achieved thanks to the synthetic resin top coat. Compared to natural bonds, it has a higher bonding strength and stands out due to its exceptionally high resistance.
  • Cool grinding is guaranteed on the FS 966 ACT vulcanized fibre disc thanks to the multi-bond coating. With this type of bond, an additional coating is applied to the abrasive product. This reduces the temperature at the grain tips as well as chip adhesion from the workpiece. This prevents heat-induced discoloration when grinding stainless steel. Furthermore, it extends the service life, thereby reducing the consumption of abrasive tools.
